I thought it would be a good idea to explain how we deal with these situations.
First some statistics.
We have a total of 8 members in the
Of those 8 members , 2 have registered 2 or 3 times under different names and have also been moved to the banned group.
So that leaves just about 4 people in that group. Not much is it ? And don't forget this is almost over a period of almost 1 year.
******* the text in yellow is from our rules of conduct *******
Members are asked to treat each other with respect. No personal attacks will be tolerated.Lets keep things friendly and civil. If there is a problem we will intervene.
- Abusive language will not be tolerated
If you visit the forums daily you quickly know the people to look out for , some undesireables you actually don't want on a forum. These are people that post pages and generally talk in such a way that arguments spring up around them. These are the people that we don't want here these are the people that break the above rule , a very important rule.
Another reason to get banned is ignoring pm's from Admin or mods. With this I refer to a situation I had with someone in the Market square. This person only used our forum to sell helmets. I repeatedly asked this person to add more info , or better pics of something specific. This went over a period of several months. He never once replied to any of my pm's or posted questions.
The rules of the Market square are updated because of that situation. The person was banned.
It's always for a small percentage of people that a forum (or even the real world) needs rules.
Finally we reserve the right to censure and delete posts which are deemed a breach of our rules. We reserve the right to lock or delete threads which we feel have gotten out of control. We reserve the right to ban members that do not adhere to our rules.
We actually never censure posts (despite of what you read somewhere else). Censuring means editing a post so that it looks different.
We do delete posts , posts that would escalate a discussion for the worse , personal attacks etc.
When we take that step you can rest assured it had something to do with a person about to get banned.
And yes the only ones complaining about it are the one or two persons now doing their thing on other forums.
I see no harm in removing posts from persons which obviously don't want to read or comply with our Rules of conduct.
These tools we use are called moderating tools , if you use them well you can create a great environment.
Once people know a forum is un-moderated chaos takes over quickly.
Our job is to make everyone feel at home here. To provide answers to your questions , to show things from our own collections and to share the passion we all have for collecting.
This is the only unsponsored forum out there. We are not affiliated with any dealers.
